An object is acted upon by a force of 22 newtons from the right and a force of 13 newtons from the left. What is the magnitude and direction of the net force?

The net force is calculated by summing up all theĀ forces acting on the object. We let the right direction as positive which results to a negative value for the left direction. The net force would be 22 + (-13) = 9 newtons. The direction would be to the right. Hope this helps.
