the factors of 2 are one and two... the factors of -3 are negative 3 and 1. (2X-1)(X-3)

2x^2-5x-3=0\ \ \ \ | write\ -5x\ as\ -6x+x\\\\ 2x^2-6x+x-3=0\\\\ x(2x+1)-3(2x+1)=0\\\\ (x-3)(2x+1)=0\\\\ x=3\ \ or\ \ 2x=-1\\\\ x=3\ \ \ or\ \ \ x=-(1)/(2)
