What you need to do just plug the number into the x values in the function.

1. f(x) = x + 6
f(-10) = -10 + 6 = -4
The answer is C. -4

2. f(x) = (x − 4) + 5
f(1) = (1 - 4) + 5
= (-3) + 5 = 2
The answer is B. 2

3. f(x) = 8 − 3(x + 2)
f(−6) = 8 - 3(-6 + 2)
= 8 - 3(-4)
= 8 + 12 = 20
The answer is A. 20

1 )
f ( - 10 ) = | - 10 + 6 | = | - 4 | = 4
Answer: D ) 4
2 )
f ( 1 ) = | 1 - 4 | + 5 = | - 3 | + 5 = 3 + 5 = 8
Answer: A ) 8
3 )
f ( - 6 ) = 8 - 3 * | - 6 + 2 | = 8 - 3 * | - 4 | = 8 - 3 / 4 = 8 - 12 = - 4
