8(5x-2) = 64
Use distributive property and multiply 8 by everything in the parentheses.
40x-16 = 64
Then add 16 to both sides to eliminate the 16 on the left side, leaving the x by itself.
40x=80
Finally, divide each side by 40. This gives you the final answer.
X=2

Let's solve your equation step-by-step.8(5x−2)=64

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.8(5x−2)=64

Simplify: (Show steps) (8)(5x)+(8)(−2)=64 (Distribute) 40x+−16=6440x−16=64

Step 2: Add 16 to both sides.40x−16+16=64+1640 x=80

Step 3: Divide both sides by 40.40x40=8040 x=2
