( 9 + x ) · ( 13 + x ) = 192
117 + 9 x + 13 x + x² = 192
x² + 22 x - 75 = 0
x 1/2 = (-22 +/-√484 + 300) / 2 = ( - 22 + 28 ) /2 ( another solution is negative )
x = 6 / 2 = 3
The width of the new garden : 9 + 3 = 12 m
Answer: C ) 12 m wide.
