What is the torque about the axle caused by the 30 N force only. Disregard the 20 N force, and recall how to determine the sign of a torque. Recall that SI units of length are meters, not cm.

The force, F = 30 N, radius, r = 0.04 m

The torque will be

\begin{gathered} \tau=F* r \\ =30*0.04 \\ =\text{ 1.2 N m} \end{gathered}

The direction of the torque will be such that the thumb will be center and curl the fingers in the direction of the force.

Thus, the torque will be 1.2 N m in the clockwise direction.
