3y+6=30-7y\ \ \ \ | add\ 7y\\\\ 10y+6=30\ \ \ \ | subtract\ 6\\\\ 10y=24\ \ \ \ | divide\ by\ 10\\\\ y=2,4\\\\Solution\ is\ y=2,4.

add 7y to both sides and subtract 6 from both sides. you now have 10y=24

divide by 10 and you have y=2.4
