4.2x - 1.4y= 2.1....for y
-1.4y = -4.2x + 2.1
y = (-4.2/-1.4)x - 2.1/1.4
y = 3x - 1.5

we have

4.2x-1.4y=2.1

Solve for y--------> clear the variable y

4.2x-1.4y=2.1

Subtract from both sides
4.2x

4.2x-1.4y-4.2x=2.1-4.2x

-1.4y=2.1-4.2x

Divide both sides by
-1.4

y=(2.1-4.2x)/(-1.4)

y=-(2.1)/(1.4) +(4.2x)/(1.4)\\ \\y= -1.5+3x\\ \\y=3x-1.5

therefore

the answer is

y=3x-1.5
