An hour has 60 minutes, then there are

1\cdot60=60

minutes in an hour. A day has 24 hours, then there are:

24\cdot60=1440

minutes in a day. A year has 365 days then there are:

365\cdot1440=525600

minutes in a year.

a)

Once we know how many minutes are in a year we can calculate how many beats there are in 20 years; to do this we multiply the number of years by the minutes in a year and by the beats per minute:

525600\cdot20\cdot70=735,840,000

Therefore, there are 735,840,000 beats in 20 years.

b)

To find how much time has elapsed we divided the number of beats by the beats per minutes.

(1200703)/(70)=17,152.9

Then, it has elapsed 17,152.9 minutes.
