why is it a mistake for an author to leave characters flat when they should be round instead? a: readers cannot tell which characters are the main characters. b: readers are unable to emotionally connect with the characters. c: readers have to split their focus between too many interesting characters. d: readers feel overwhelmed by the amount of action in the story.

B, because authors tend to make characters emotions more deep and thoughtful, adventurous and have more descriptive personality traits.
