We have the following:

We must pass all the numbers to their decimal form

\begin{gathered} (1)/(3)=0.333 \\ -1=-1 \\ \sqrt[]{3}=1.73 \\ -(9)/(2)=-4.5 \\ 2.3=2.3 \end{gathered}

any negative number is less than a positive number, therefore, the least number is -4.5 = -9/2

the answer is C.
