0.35(70) + 0.25(30) = 24.50 + 7.5 = 32....Jimmy saves $ 32

Answer:

He saved $ 32 in all.

Explanation:

Given,

The discount percentage on the pair of sneakers = 35 %,

Original price of sneakers = $ 70,

So, the saving on sneakers = Total discount on sneakers

= 35 % of original price of sneakers,

= 35 % of 70

=(35* 70)/(100)

=(2450)/(100)

=\$ 24.50

Now, The discount percentage on a shirt = 25 %,

Original price of a shirt = $ 30,

So, the saving on shirt = Total discount on shirt

= 25 % of original price of shirt,

= 25 % of 30

=(25* 30)/(100)

=(750)/(100)

=\$7.50

Hence, his total saving = the saving on sneakers + the saving on shirt

= $ 24.50 + $ 7.50

= $ 32.00
