First, find the slope of the line

The points are;

(3, 8) and (2, 2)

x₁ = 3

y₁ = 8

x₂ = 2

y₂=2

slope(m) = y₂ - y₁ / x₂ - x₁

= 2 - 8 / 2 - 3

= -6 /-1

= 6

Next find the intercept

x = 2 y=2 m = 6

y =mx + b

2 =6(2) + b

2 = 12 + b

subtract 12 from both-side of the equation

2 - 12 = b

-10 = b

To form the equation, substitute the value of m and b in y=mx + b

y = 6x - 10
