Hello ,
DEFG is a rectangle , so :
2x-1 = x+3
2x-x = 3+1
x = 4 .

DF = 2x-1
= 2 * 4 - 1
= 8-1
= 7 .

EG = x+3
= 4 + 3
= 7 .

To solve for x we must equate both sides

2x-1=x+3

Collecting like terms

2x-x=3+1

x=4
