the $5 per hour machine. For every dollar spent you get 2 dollars worth of candy per hour. Every other way you get less profit per dollar spent than that.

Answer:

A is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Given is:

The profit earned per pound of candy is = $1

A. Worker at $10 per hour, producing eight pounds of candy per hour.

Profit will be $8, but the worker will charge $10 per hour. This will not result in profit. The loss will be $2.

B. Worker at $12 per hour, producing 16 pounds of candy per hour

Profit will be $4.

C. Machine with $5 per hour operating cost, producing 10 pounds of candy per hour

Profit is $5.

D. Machine with $8 per hour operating cost, producing 14 pounds of candy per hour

Profit is $6.

Comparing all we can say option A is the least profitable.
