to find the average, add up all the numbers then divide by how many numbers there are.

(89 + 40 + 18) / 3 = 147/3 = 49 <== ur average

\huge\textsf{Hey there!}

\large\textsf{Find the average: 89, 40, \& 18}

\large\textsf{The formula is: }\mathsf{(n + 1) / 2}\large\textsf{ whereas the value of n equals number of}\\\large\textsf{terms in the given data that you are working with.}

\large\textsf{Numbers that is going on the top (where your numerator is): }\\\large\textsf{89,40, \& 18}\\\\\\\\\large\textsf{Whereas, the bottom number (where your denominator is) will be 3}\\\large\textsf{ because that it is the total number you have in he data set.}

\large\textsf{Now, that we have that information out of the way, we can answer}\\\large\textsf{your given equation, shall we?}

\large\textsf{Equation: }\mathsf{(89+40+18)/(3)}

\large\textsf{Solving for your numerator (the TOP number(s)}\downarrow\\\\\mathsf{89+40+18}\\\\\mathsf{89+40=\boxed{\large\textsf{\bf 129}}}\\\\\mathsf{\bold{129}+18}\\\\\mathsf{= \boxed{\large\textsf{\bf 147}}}\\\\\large\textsf{Your new numerator is: \underline{147} because we added all of the numbers up}\\\large\textsf{and got that as our result!}

\large\textsf{New EQUATION: }\mathsf{\frac{\bold{147}}{3}}

\large\textsf{Solving for your AVERAGE of the data set}\downarrow\\\\\mathsf{(147)/(3)}\\\\\\\mathsf{= (147/3)/(3/3)}\\\\\\\mathsf{147/3=\boxed{\large\textsf{\bf 49}}}\\\\\\\mathsf{3/3=\boxed{\large\textsf{\bf 1}}}\\\\\\\\\mathsf{=(49)/(1)}\\\\\\\mathsf{= \boxed{\bf 49}}\\\\\large\rm{\therefore \ your\ MEAN (also\ known\ as\ AVERAGE)\ is: \bf 49}

\boxed{\boxed{\large\textsf{Answer: \huge the \bf average is: 49}}}}\huge\checkmark

\large\textsf{Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!}
