x+y = -4 (a)

y=2x-1 (b)

Pu (b) in to (a) (substitution)

x+ (2x-1)=-4

Solve for x

x+2x-1 =-4

3x-1 =-4

3x=-4+1

3x=-3

x=-3/3

x=-1 (c)

Put (c) into (b)

y= 2(-1)-1

y= -2-1

y=-3
