The opposition to the Vietnam War increased over time as the war progressed because people from both US and Australia started finding out that the US had violated the “1954 Geneva Agreements in Indochina”. They also discovered that the war was illegal and also the Republic of South Vietnam, which was supported by the US.

The Vietnam War (Vietnamese: Chiến tranh Việt Nam), also known as the Second Indochina War, and known in Vietnam as Resistance War Against America (Vietnamese: Kháng chiến chống Mỹ) or simply the American War, was a Cold War-era that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975.
