Assume that you have two dice. What is the probability of rolling a number greater than or equal to 9, given that at least one of the dice must show a 6?

The answer is 4/36 or 1/9.

The chances of one dice getting 6 = 1/6. whereas, the chances of getting a combination of 9 or higher with at least one dice getting 6 is: 1/6* 4/6 since there can only be four combinations that would sum to 9 (3 +6, 4+6, 5+6 & 6+). 1/6 * 4/6 = 4/36 or 1/9.
