Homeostasis is the ability of the body to maintain internal balance despite changing external conditions. How does the respiratory system help maintain homeostasis?

It gets rid of the body's waste (carbon dioxide) and brings in what is necessary to live (oxygen).

The respiratory system helps in homeostasis by gas exchange and the regulation of blood pH.  The said system eliminates waste gas which is carbon dioxide  and brings in what is necessary to the body which is oxygen.Hope this answers the question.
