Their combined age is 234 years old! How old is each of the siblings? 1. What are you trying to find out? 2. Declare a variable to represent what is unknown. (Hint: use one variable to represent all three siblings' ages) 3. Express the situation in an equation or inequality. 4. Calculate the value of what you are trying to find out!

Given data:

The age of George in terms of Anthony age is G=A+4.

The given age of Anthony in terms of sylvia is A=S+3.

The combined age is A+G+S=234.

The age of George in terms of Sylvia is,

G=(S+3)+4

=S+7

Substitute the above value and given value in the combined age.

S+3+S+7+S=234

3S+10=234

3S=224

S=224/3

George age is

7+224/3=245/3

Anthony age is,

A=3+224/3

=233/3

Thus, the age of George is 245/3, Anthony is 233/3, and Sylvia is 224/3.
