Since the given function is

f(x)=(x-2)(x-1)

Multiply the 2 brackets in the right side

\begin{gathered} f(x)=(x)(x)+(x)(-1)+(-2)(x)+(-2)(-1) \\ f(x)=x^2-x-2x+2 \end{gathered}

Add the like terms

\begin{gathered} f(x)=x^2+(-x-2x)+2 \\ f(x)=x^2-3x+2 \end{gathered}

Since the greatest power of the function is 2, then

The function is a quadratic

The parent quadratic function is

f(x)=x^2

The answer is f(x) = x^2
