The given above may be mathematically expressed as,
x/ 4 = x - 12
Multiplying both sides of the equation by 4 gives,
x = 4x - 48
The value of the x from the equation is 16. Therefore, the answer is letter D.

x - x/4 = 12
3x/4 = 12
x = 12*4/3
x = 16
