You can solve for y in the first equation
y = 4x + 7
Plug 4x + 7 instead of y in the second equation
2(4x + 7) + 4x = 2
Solve for x
x = -1
Plug -1 for x
y - 4 * -1 = 7
y = 3
Solution: (-1, 3)
