Base of the right triangle is 8 ft

Height of the right triangle is 9 ft

\begin{gathered} =(1)/(2)* base* height \\ =(1)/(2)*8*9=36ft^2 \end{gathered}

Area of the rectangle is,


=\text{length}* height
=4*1=4ft^2

Area of the shaded region is,
