What is the derivative of 2sinx and 2cos2x? Find the rules in finding derivative of such functions.

Answer:

2cos(x) and -4sin(2x)

Explanation:

It is actually very simple...

The derivative of sin(x) = cos(x) whereas the derivative of cos(x) = -sin(x)

to solve the first just do the derivative of 2sin(x) which 2cos(x)... the second one is little more complicated.

For 2cos(2x) you have to do the derivative of the outside times the derivative of the inside (quotient rule).

-2sin(2x)*2 which equals...

-4sin(2x) [Answer]

Your answer will be 2tan2x=4sec^2x and tan2x=2sec^2x
