y=mx+b
m=slope

for perpendicular lines, the slopes are negative inverses of each other
that means that when you multipy them together, you get -1

y=6x+3
m=6
what is negative inverse?
6 times what=-1
divide 6
what=-1/6

y=-1/6x+b
passes through point (-30,2)
x=-30 and y=2 is a point
find b
2=-1/6(-30)+b
2=5+b
minus 5 both sides
-3=b
y=-1/6x-3

the equation is y=-1/6x-3
