let first number be n,
consecutive number is n+1
2n + (n+1) = 52

The two consecutive numbers are 17 and 18. Based on the condition above, twice the smaller number added to the greater number sums up to 52. Thus, the equation is: 17*2 + 18 = 52. 17 multiplied by 2 is 34. 18 added to 34 is equal to 52. I hope this helps.
