2.On a frictionless air track, a 0.15 kg glider moving to the right collides with and sticks to a stationary 0.25kg glider. The net momentum of this system after the collision is 0.18 kg . m/s. What is the speed of thegliders after the collision?1.32 m/s0.45 m/s0.97 m/s0.66 m/s

We have the next information

m1=0.15kg

m2=0.25kg

p=0.18kg m/s

because the two masses are sticks after the collision, first we sum the masses

m=m_1+m_2=0.15+0.25=0.4\text{ kg}

then we use the momentum formula

p=m\cdot v

then we substitute the values

0.18=0.4\cdot v

then we isolate v

v=(0.18)/(0.4)=0.45^{}(m)/(s)

the speed of the gliders after the collision is 0.45 m/s
