To find the slope we use the formula

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

where (x2,y2) is a right point from (x1,y1)

on this case (-1,5) is (x2,y2) and (-3,-1) is (x1,y1)

then replacing

\begin{gathered} m=((5)-(-1))/((-1)-(-3)) \\ \\ m=(6)/(2)=3 \end{gathered}

The slope of the line is 3
