A shipping container will be used to transport several 100-kilogram crates across the country by rail. The greatest weight that can be loaded into the container is 26500 kilograms. Other shipments weighing 5300 kilograms have already been loaded into the container. Which inequality can be used to determine c, the greatest number of 100-kilogram crates that can be loaded onto the shipping container?

100c\text{ + 5300 }\leq\text{ 26,500}

Here, we want to write an inequality that can be used to determine c

From the question, the greatest weight is given as 26,500 kg

Since it is the greatest, it means we can have total weights less then this

What this mean is that the inequality sign that we will use is less than or equal to since 26,500 kg is the largest weight

For each of c, we have a weight of 100-kg; the total c will thus be;

100\text{ }*\text{ c = 100c}

we then proceed to add this to the weight we have already and apply the inequality sign

Mathematically, this will be;

100c\text{ + 5300 }\leq\text{ 26,500}
