You want to produce a scale drawing of your living room, which is 21 ft by 28 ft. If you use a scale of 5 in. = 7 ft, what will be the dimensions of your scale drawing?

If 5 in represents 7ft, then 21 ft will be represented by (21 * 5) / 7 = 15 in and 28ft will be represented by (28 * 5) / 7 = 20 in.
Hence the dimension of the scale drawing will be 15 in by 20 in.
