A clothing store is selling a pair of jeans for $18 and a sweatshirt for $12. Which inequality shows the number of sweatshirts Alee can buy along with one pair of jeans if she has $90 to spend? Assume that there is no sales tax.

To solve this problem we must first generate the equation:

\begin{gathered} x\to sweatshirt \\ y\to jean \\ Ax+By=90 \\ y=18 \\ x=12 \end{gathered}

From the exercise we know that you are only going to buy a pair of jeans:

\begin{gathered} 12\cdot A+18\cdot B\le90 \\ B=1 \\ 12A+18\cdot(1)\le90 \\ 12A\le90-18 \\ 12A\le72 \\ A\le(72)/(12) \\ A\le6 \end{gathered}

Alee can buy 1 jean and a maximum of 6 sweatshirts with $90
