Given the statement "The product of a number and 2 is 16."

Let "x" represent the said number.

The word "product" indicates that you have to multiply both numbers so

2x

The result of the multiplication is 16, then:

2x=16

The equation that will help you find the number is the first one to the right. 2x=16

b) To calculate the number using the equation, you have to divide both sides of the equal sign by 2

\begin{gathered} 2x=16 \\ (2x)/(2)=(16)/(2) \\ x=8 \end{gathered}

The value of the number is 8
