We have to calculate the non-green beads, as the sum of the beads that are not green:

\begin{gathered} \text{red}=8,\text{blue}=5,\text{yellow}=4,\text{ gre}en=3 \\ \text{non}-\text{green}=\text{red}+\text{blue}+\text{yellow}=8+5+4=17 \end{gathered}

The ratio of green beads to non-green beads is:

\text{ratio=}\frac{green\text{ beads}}{non-green\text{ beads}}=(3)/(17)
