Shannon's juggling theorem states that (F+D)H=(V+D)N , where F is how long a ball spends in the air, D is how long it remains in the hand, H is the number if hands juggling, V is how long the hands spends empty, and N is the number of balls juggled. Solve for equation for V.

(F+D)H=(V+D)N

Solve for V

Divide both sides by N

((F+D)H)/(N)=V+D

Subtract D from both sides:

((F+D)H)/(N)-D=V
