Answer

The actual distance of the street is

Library= 875 feet

Train station = 1000 feet

Townhall = 1,125 feet

Explanation:

The initial distance of the streets from the school is given as

Library = 3.5cm

Train station = 4cm

Townhall = 4.5cm

The scale drawing of the map is given as 2cm: 500ft

For library

The initial distance = 3.5cm

The scale drawing on the map is 2cm : 500ft

The real distance can be calculated as follows

Let the distance be l

2 = 500

3.5 = l

Cross multiply

2*l = 500 * 3.5

2l = 1750

Divide through by 2

2l/2 = 1750/2

l = 875 ft

The library is 875 feet far from school to the library

For Train station

Let the distance in feet be t

The initial distance is 4cm

2 : 500

4 : t

Cross multiply

2*t = 500 * 4

2t = 2000

Divide through by 2

2t/2 = 2000/2

t = 1000

The train station is 1000 ft far from the school

For townhall

Let h represents the distance of the town hall

The initial length is 4.5 cm

2 =500

4 = h

Cross multiply

2 * h = 4.5* 500

2h = 2250

Divide through by =

2h/2 = 2250 /2

h = 1, 125 feet
