India was an excellent trading spot. Many merchants from different countries came and traded with Britain, which in turn brought Britain more money.

Answer:

India was used asa tranding post.

Step-by-step explanation:

British colonization in India began in the seventeenth century, but only in the following century its importance grew. Everything in the beginning was done by BEIC. The Company overcame Dutch and French competition by force and imposed itself.

India, which previously exported textiles to Britain, has become a mere supplier of raw materials and importer of manufactured goods. Ironically, some of the cotton that served as raw material for the products of the British weaving industries came from India itself.

The British empire also created a trade treaty whereby the East India Company could erect trading posts in India in exchange for European goods. The company traded items such as cotton, silk, saltpeter, indigo and tea.
