y=x^2-6x+7
vertex form is
y=a(x-h)^2+k
basically complete the squaer

move 7 over to oth er side
y-7=x^2-6x
look at inner to coplete square
x^2-6x
make sure n umber in front of x^2 is 1, it is
now divide the constant in front of the x term by 2 and square it (-6/3=-3, (-3)^2=9)
now add that to both sides
y+9-7=x^2-6x+9
comlete the squaer
y+9-7=(x-3)^2
add
y+2=(x-3)^2
minus 2
y=1(x-3)^2-2

equation is
y=1(x-3)^2-2
