Hi there, 3(-4)=-12+-6/x=12, -12x+-6=12x, -24x-6=0, -24x=6, -24x/-24=6/-24. x=-1/4. Therefore, x=-1/4

(3(-4) - 6)/x = 12
(-12 - 6)/x = 12
-18/x = 12
-18 = 12x
x = -18/12
x = -3/2
x = -3/2 when y = -4
