After her case went to the Supreme Court, the U.S Supreme Court (USSC) ruled for Mapp, with a 6-3 vote. Because of this ruling, the exclusionary rule was then established. The exclusionary rule is a proposition from the United States constitutional law which explains that any evidence which was then taken and is not legally obtained under the fourth amendment must not be used.
