Ryker is given the graph of the function

y= 1/2x^2 - 4 . He wants to find the zeros of the function but is unable to read them exactly from the graph. Find the zeros give answer to nearest tenth

You can just set y=0 and solve for x. when you do this you should get 1/2x^2=4
x^2=8
x=2.8 and -2.8 ( you have both a positive number and negative number since (-2.8)^2=(2.8)^2 =8
