The plantation systems are different between the south and the north. The northern plantations relied more on technology while the south rely more on the slaves. That's why the north's plantation productions are far greater than the south.
The plantation owners of the north are also the first one who condemn slavery in the plantation, while the south owners seems to be less advanced and more closed minded.
