Answer:

An artery can carry deoxygenated blood because it is a blood vessel that carries blood away from the heart. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood out of the heart and into the lungs to get oxygenated.

The answer is no. For mainly the aorta, it definitely no because this main artery sends blood all throughout the parts of the body. An aorta can be allowed to carry deoxygenated blood, IF there is a defect in the heart which no one would like.
