Formula: A=L*W
3/5 = 7/8*W
7/8 divide both sides
W= 0.6857 of 24/35

area =legnth times width
area=3/5
legnth=7/8
width=?
so
3/5=7/8 times ?
multiply both sides by 8/7 to clear fraction (7/8 times 8/7=56/56=1 and 1 times ?=? so)
24/35=?
the width=24/35 mile
