How did the Fugitive Slave Act and the Kansas-Nebraska Act further divide the North and South? What role did the concept of popular sovereignty play in these conflicts? Do you think there was any way to avoid the violence that came out of this era?

Congress allowed the people living in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to vote on the issue of slavery. This act repealled the Missouri compromise act. They used popular sovereignty to decide if slavery should be allowed. I don`t know if this answered your question , but i hope it helped.
