n; n + 2 - the two consecutive even integers
n + 3(n + 2) = 46
n + 3n + 6 = 46
|subtract 6 from both sides
4n = 40
|divide both sides by 4
n = 10
n + 2
=
10 + 2
= 12
Answer: 10 and 12.
