Determine the width of patio.


\begin{gathered} (l)/(w)=\frac{1+\sqrt[]{5}}{2} \\ (14)/(w)=\frac{1+\sqrt[]{5}}{2} \\ w=\frac{28}{1+\sqrt[]{5}} \\ =(28)/(1+2.236) \\ =(28)/(3.236) \\ =8.652 \\ \approx9 \end{gathered}

So width of of the patio is 9 foot.
