The point-slope form of the equation of the line is

y-b=m(x-a)

where

\begin{gathered} m=(6-(-2))/(3-1) \\ m=(8)/(2) \\ m=4 \end{gathered}

Replacing m=4 and the point (1,-2) we have

\begin{gathered} y-(-2)=4(x-1) \\ y+2=4x-4 \\ y=4x-6 \end{gathered}

This equation can be writen in diferent ways l
