A large polar bear may weigh 1600 pounds.What fractional part of a ton is 1600 pounds?

The fractional part would be 4/5 because 2000-1600=400 and if you divide 2000 by 400 and 1600 by 400 you get 4/5 (wrong order when solving, srry). Hope that helped :D

A ton is 2000 lbs. If a polar bear is 1600 lbs then the fractional part of a ton would be...

1600/2000 which will reduce to

16/20 = 4/5
